About

Little Bug, released in 2018, is a unique indie adventure platformer that invites players to navigate two distinct characters with a captivating physics-based swinging mechanic. As players control Nyah, they can walk, collect items, and explore alongside her spirit light, which is capable of flying through darker areas. This innovative gameplay sets Little Bug apart within its genre and offers a fresh take on platforming challenges.

When it comes to PC performance, Little Bug is quite accessible due to its modest hardware requirements. Players can expect smooth gameplay on entry-level GPUs, with a minimum GPU score of around 478 and a CPU score of approximately 154. With just 2 GB of RAM needed, even budget setups can achieve reasonable FPS on lower graphics settings, making it a great choice for gamers looking for a less demanding experience without sacrificing fun.

Given its 70/100 rating and charming indie appeal, Little Bug is definitely worth playing, especially if you appreciate inventive gameplay mechanics and adventure narratives. The balance of challenge and exploration makes it enjoyable for a broad audience, particularly those who enjoy platformers.

Performance profile

September 2018 release. Little Bug was built around the GTX 10-series / RX Vega era. Current-gen mid-range cards (RTX 4060 / RX 7600) are overkill at 1080p and handle 1440p Ultra comfortably.

Little Bug is a narrative-driven experience — a rock-solid 60 FPS is plenty. Prioritise resolution and image quality (AA, anisotropic filtering) over chasing high-refresh framerates.

Extremely light — Little Bug runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.

Storyline

Nyah is lost and the sun is quickly setting. A massive presence materializes in the darkness, its eyes barely visible through trembling branches. Nyah runs, terrified of what might have happened to her mom, but then she falls... she's woken by a light zipping through the air, and it beckons her, feeling strangely familiar, warming her mind - but the world around her has changed. Lost spirits roam the horizon while remains of the dead dance in dark canyons. Nyah finds the warmth of the light isn't just in her head - when she focuses on it, a wildly powerful beam connects them, but she has a whole lot to learn if she's ever going to find her mom in this strange land.
