About
Mad Max (2015) is an action-adventure game that puts you in the boots of the iconic wasteland warrior as he battles enemies and builds up his signature vehicle, the Magnum Opus, with help from his mechanic companion Chumbucket. The gameplay combines brutal melee combat with shotgun-based ranged attacks, offering a gritty post-apocalyptic experience that captures the franchise's chaotic energy.
Mad Max is relatively accessible on PC, making it a solid choice for mid-range systems. The game runs smoothly on entry-level GPUs with a benchmark score around 4410, and you'll need at least 6GB of RAM and a CPU scoring around 2662 to meet minimum requirements. Most modern GPUs will handle this title comfortably at decent FPS and graphics settings, though older hardware may require performance compromises.
If you enjoy action games with satisfying combat mechanics and don't mind a lower review score, Mad Max is worth trying. The game delivers solid benchmark performance across a wide range of hardware, making it accessible whether you're testing performance on a budget build or a high-end system.
Performance profile
Released in September 2015, Mad Max sits in the DirectX 11 generation. Comfortable on any modern mid-range GPU at 1440p; even an RTX 3050 or RX 6600 typically delivers 4K60 at High settings.
Mad Max is a narrative-driven experience — a rock-solid 60 FPS is plenty. Prioritise resolution and image quality (AA, anisotropic filtering) over chasing high-refresh framerates.
Entry-level hardware target. A GTX 1650 or RX 6500 XT reaches 60 FPS at 1080p Medium in Mad Max; an RTX 4060 comfortably sustains 1440p Ultra. 4K Ultra 60 FPS needs an RTX 4070 or better.
Storyline
Max must traverse a barren desert wasteland in search for his lost treasured vehicle, the Pursuit Special (also referred to as The Interceptor).
