Notably, it features in-game currency and secret challenges that enhance replayability and encourage skillful play.

In terms of PC performance, Mononoke Slashdown is accessible to a wide range of gamers, thanks to its low minimum requirements. To run the game well, a GPU score around 381 is recommended, making it compatible with entry-level graphics cards. Players can expect a smooth experience at higher FPS rates on mid-tier GPUs, allowing for enjoyable gameplay even on modest hardware while maintaining decent graphics settings.

Should you dive into Mononoke Slashdown? With its charming art style and entertaining mechanics, this game has garnered positive reviews, making it a worthwhile play for fans of action and casual genres. If you're looking for a game that combines fun, challenge, and accessible performance, Mononoke Slashdown is definitely worth your time.

Performance profile

October 2019 release. Mononoke Slashdown was built around the GTX 10-series / RX Vega era. Current-gen mid-range cards (RTX 4060 / RX 7600) are overkill at 1080p and handle 1440p Ultra comfortably.

Action titles like Mononoke Slashdown reward high framerates for visual clarity during combat. A mid-range modern GPU at 1440p 60–120 FPS is the practical sweet spot; VRR (G-Sync/FreeSync) smooths out drops during heavy effects.

Extremely light — Mononoke Slashdown runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.

Storyline

In a peaceful town, people were living in harmony. But one day, an evil power slowly awakens from the depths beyond the mountain ridges. Mysterious stones are said to be seen, first in the mountain, then in the fields, and eventually in the city. And from these stones, ghosts start apperaring successively, turning the peaceful life of the villagers into a nightmare. Suddenly, in the forest, a swordsman's blade shines in the night! It is the katana of a ninja apprentice, [Kagemaru]. "Why won't the warriors come and help the villagers..." Kagemaru already knew the answer, as the city and its castle were flooded with ghosts summoned by this evil power. While still an apprentice, Kagemaru now stands up fearlessly to fight the ghosts. In order to save the city and its people, he will have to face the monsters alone.
