About

New Planets, released in 2020, is an action-adventure indie game that immerses players in a vibrant new solar system. The game revolves around saving your teacher while navigating various challenges and enemies, combining intriguing narrative elements with engaging gameplay mechanics. Its notable approach to storytelling and exploration makes it a unique addition to the indie gaming scene.

In terms of PC performance, New Planets is designed to be accessible for a wide audience. The minimum GPU requirement is an entry-level GPU with a benchmark score around 800, which means players can enjoy the game without needing high-end hardware. With a minimum of 4 GB RAM, players can expect a smooth experience around 30-60 FPS on lower graphics settings, while more powerful GPUs will yield higher frame rates and better visuals, enhancing overall gameplay.

If you appreciate indie games with solid storytelling and adventurous gameplay, New Planets is worth your time. With its engaging plot and accessible hardware requirements, it’s an enjoyable experience that balances performance with entertaining content, making it a solid recommendation for fans of the genre.

Performance profile

Released in January 2020, New Planets targets RTX 20/30-series and RX 6000-era hardware. A current mid-range GPU (RTX 4060 Ti / RX 7700 XT) is the sweet spot for 1440p Ultra; 4K needs a high-end card.

New Planets is a narrative-driven experience — a rock-solid 60 FPS is plenty. Prioritise resolution and image quality (AA, anisotropic filtering) over chasing high-refresh framerates.

Extremely light — New Planets runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.
