About

Raft (2022) is a survival adventure game that drops you onto a small wooden platform in the middle of the ocean. You'll gather floating debris to expand your raft, farm crops, and defend against sharks while uncovering the mysteries of this abandoned world. The indie title supports solo and cooperative multiplayer, making it a unique blend of survival mechanics and exploration gameplay.

Performance-wise, Raft is quite accessible for most gaming PCs. The game runs smoothly on modest hardware, requiring only 6 GB of RAM minimum and delivering solid FPS even on integrated graphics. Mid-range GPUs like the GTX 1050 or RX 6600 will easily handle high graphics settings at 1080p with 60+ FPS, while budget-conscious players can expect playable performance on entry-level cards with adjusted graphics settings.

With a solid 76/100 rating, Raft offers a relaxing yet engaging survival experience that stands out from typical genres. If you enjoy creative building, cooperative gameplay, and don't mind a slower-paced adventure, it's definitely worth adding to your library.

Performance profile

Released in June 2022, Raft targets RTX 20/30-series and RX 6000-era hardware. A current mid-range GPU (RTX 4060 Ti / RX 7700 XT) is the sweet spot for 1440p Ultra; 4K needs a high-end card.

Simulation titles like Raft are heavily CPU-dependent — physics, AI and world state dominate the frame budget. Prioritise a CPU with strong single-thread performance and fast RAM over raw GPU power.

Entry-level hardware target. A GTX 1650 or RX 6500 XT reaches 60 FPS at 1080p Medium in Raft; an RTX 4060 comfortably sustains 1440p Ultra. 4K Ultra 60 FPS needs an RTX 4070 or better.

Storyline

Trapped on a small raft with nothing but a hook made of old plastic, players awake on a vast, blue ocean totally alone and with no land in sight! With a dry throat and an empty stomach, survival will not be easy! Resources are tough to come by at sea: Players will have to make sure to catch whatever debris floats by using their trusty hook and when possible, scavenge the reefs beneath the waves and the islands above. However, thirst and hunger is not the only danger in the ocean… watch out for the man-eating shark determined to end your voyage!
