About
"Read Only Memories: Neurodiver," set to release in 2024, is an adventure game that revisits the colorful cyberpunk landscape of Neo-San Francisco, famed from its predecessor in 2064. This indie title introduces players to new characters and intriguing gameplay mechanics, such as the ability to explore and alter other characters' memories. With a rich narrative and various endings to uncover, Neurodiver promises to provide engaging gameplay for both casual and dedicated gamers alike.
From a performance standpoint, Neurodiver is designed to be accessible, requiring only an entry-level GPU with a minimum score of around 300. This means you can expect smooth FPS even on budget-friendly hardware. While more capable systems will enhance the experience with better graphics settings, the game’s minimum requirement of 2 GB RAM ensures that a wide array of PCs can comfortably run this title, making it a solid benchmark for those looking to explore cyberpunk narratives without the need for cutting-edge graphics.
If you’re a fan of adventure games or intrigued by unique storytelling, you should definitely consider playing Neurodiver. With its engaging mechanics and a promising rating, this title is likely to resonate well with players who appreciate narrative depth in gaming.
Performance profile
May 2024 release. As a current-generation title, Read Only Memories: Neurodiver pushes modern hardware — expect to need an RTX 40-series or RX 7000-series GPU to enjoy it at native 4K Ultra without leaning on upscaling.
Read Only Memories: Neurodiver is a narrative-driven experience — a rock-solid 60 FPS is plenty. Prioritise resolution and image quality (AA, anisotropic filtering) over chasing high-refresh framerates.
Extremely light — Read Only Memories: Neurodiver runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.
Storyline
Take on the role of ES88, a telepath employed by a powerful organization called MINERVA specializing in neurotechnology and extrasensory projection phenomena. In exchange for a procedure arming her with a Neurodiver, a powerful genetically engineered device allowing ES88 to dive into others’ memories, and employment at the agency, ES88 gave up her identity and memories. A rogue Esper, a naturally gifted psychic, is on the loose and wreaking havoc through the subconscious minds of Neo-San Francisco. Track down this mysterious rogue known as the Golden Butterfly by using the Neurodiver to search the memories in which it hides. Read Only Memories: Neurodiver’s Deep Dive mechanic enables ES88 to identify, manipulate, and unlock information, though overuse can irreparably corrupt her target’s memory.
