Storyline
In the neon-soaked island city of Nexon, data is power, and the oppressive megacorporation Veritas Industries holds all the cards. But their latest corporate acquisition crosses the line. They have stolen the blueprints for the C.O.R.E. - a revolutionary, Vithium-powered mechanical heart currently keeping 26-year-old tech genius Deren Kael alive. Veritas plans to mass-produce and weaponize the technology to establish absolute control over the city. Refusing to let his life-saving invention become a tool of oppression, Deren rallies up members - creating a found family of neurodivergent misfits. Operating out of "Subroutine," a humble tech repair shop that doubles as their rebel hideout, this chaotic crew is Nexon's only hope. The team includes Phenn, a shy but deadly sharpshooter; the married, two-person army of Ral and Cel; Jayce, a highly paranoid hacker; and Lyra, an internet-obsessed hacker-engineer fueled by rebel spite and chaos. Alongside this, they are aided from insiders, being given intel from former Veritas employees that join the battle later in the story. With this, the team must navigate a treacherous, reactive world that is actively trying to crumble them. Their mission is simple: launch a rebellious takeover, reclaim the C.O.R.E. blueprints, and dismantle Veritas Industries. But this crew prefers to play the long game. Balancing high-speed street brawls and corporate heists with lazy days on the couch, spontaneous banter, and arguing over who has to do the dishes, they must protect the city - and each other.
