About
Salvation Hours, released in 2024, immerses players in a gripping action-adventure narrative, drawing upon the harrowing true story of the Benghazi 2012 Attack on the American Consulate. In this single-player, first-person shooter, players step into the shoes of GRS Operatives as they navigate slow-paced, tactical gameplay that emphasizes strategy over sheer speed. This unique blend of historical context and engaging gameplay sets Salvation Hours apart in the indie gaming landscape.
When it comes to PC performance, Salvation Hours is designed to be accessible, requiring a minimum of 12 GB of RAM to deliver a stable experience. For GPU requirements, it performs well on entry-level graphics cards that achieve a minimum score of around 1599. Players looking for solid FPS benchmarks should consider GPUs in the mid-range tier for optimal performance, ensuring smooth frame rates even at moderate graphics settings.
If you're a fan of narrative-driven shooters or enjoy tactical gameplay, Salvation Hours warrants a look. Its unique premise and engaging mechanics make it a recommended play for both history buffs and gaming enthusiasts alike, providing a fresh perspective in the action-adventure genre.
Performance profile
June 2024 release. As a current-generation title, Salvation Hours pushes modern hardware — expect to need an RTX 40-series or RX 7000-series GPU to enjoy it at native 4K Ultra without leaning on upscaling.
Salvation Hours is a narrative-driven experience — a rock-solid 60 FPS is plenty. Prioritise resolution and image quality (AA, anisotropic filtering) over chasing high-refresh framerates.
Extremely light — Salvation Hours runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.
Storyline
Salvation Hours is a Single-Player game magnifying the events of the 2012 Benghazi Attack. It’s a First Person Shooter with an overall tactical feel that puts the player in the shoes of one of the GRS Operators, Jack Sanders, who was present during the attack. The game revolves around those 6 GRS operators that held their ground by defending the Consulate and the CIA Annex against the militants. The game is set in Benghazi, Libya and follows the real events very closely, albeit with minor changes to protect the privacy of all those involved. As one of the GRS Operators, you observe the events in the First Person perspective, learning what all happened and lead to the eventual attack. GRS held their ground for almost 13 hours before they were evacuated, while defending all the American CIA officers. In this tragic event, the Ambassador and his close aid lost their lives and so did 2 GRS Operators.
