About

The 11th Hour is a 1995 adventure horror sequel that builds on the success of The 7th Guest with 22 pre-rendered 3D rooms and cinematic sequences blended throughout gameplay. The game is considered one of the finest examples of combining full-motion video with interactive 3D environments, creating an immersive puzzle-driven experience that defined the adventure genre of its era.

Running The 11th Hour is straightforward on modern systems, as it has minimal hardware demands by today's standards. With only 1 GB RAM required and targeting 1024x768 resolution, you can maintain smooth 60+ FPS on virtually any discrete GPU from the last decade. Even integrated graphics will handle this benchmark without performance concerns, making it an excellent test case for legacy game compatibility rather than system stress.

If you appreciate classic adventure games and atmospheric puzzle-solving, The 11th Hour's 77/100 rating reflects a well-crafted experience worth revisiting or discovering. The game's unique blend of cinematic storytelling and 3D exploration makes it a standout title for adventure fans, despite its age.

Performance profile

Released in November 1995, The 11th Hour predates modern GPU acceleration as we know it today. It runs effortlessly on virtually any current hardware, including integrated graphics and entry-level laptops — framerate is limited by the engine, not the GPU.

The 11th Hour is a narrative-driven experience — a rock-solid 60 FPS is plenty. Prioritise resolution and image quality (AA, anisotropic filtering) over chasing high-refresh framerates.

Extremely light — The 11th Hour runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.

Storyline

The ill-fated mansion of deranged toymaker Henry Stauf has been left to corrode and decompose for 70 years. However, the ominous silence only concealed the deadly legacy of madness and, when a journalist named Carl Denning arrives to search for his missing lover, the malignant past and undying forces are brought back to the real world. From the second you enter the mansion, every moment is filled with horror. Three mysterious women are your only guides as you try to escape the haunted house.
