About
Ultra Street Fighter IV is the 2014 evolution of Capcom's legendary fighting franchise, bringing the series to new heights with five additional characters and six fresh stages. This action-focused fighter maintains the competitive depth and technical gameplay the series is celebrated for, featuring rebalanced mechanics and new modes that expand the already robust content. It's a standout title for players seeking challenging, skill-based one-on-one combat.
Running Ultra Street Fighter IV requires minimal hardware by modern standards, making it highly accessible for budget gaming builds. The game runs smoothly on integrated graphics and older mid-range GPUs, easily achieving 60+ FPS on modest systems with proper benchmark testing. Even a GPU from several generations ago will handle this title comfortably, and you'll rarely encounter performance issues unless running on extremely dated hardware. The game's 1 GB RAM requirement is trivial by today's standards.
With a solid 71/100 rating, Ultra Street Fighter IV remains a must-play for fighting game enthusiasts and anyone wanting to experience one of the genre's finest entries. If you enjoy competitive action games with depth and precision gameplay, this classic deserves a spot in your library.
Performance profile
Released in April 2014, Ultra Street Fighter IV sits in the DirectX 11 generation. Comfortable on any modern mid-range GPU at 1440p; even an RTX 3050 or RX 6600 typically delivers 4K60 at High settings.
Action titles like Ultra Street Fighter IV reward high framerates for visual clarity during combat. A mid-range modern GPU at 1440p 60–120 FPS is the practical sweet spot; VRR (G-Sync/FreeSync) smooths out drops during heavy effects.
Extremely light — Ultra Street Fighter IV runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.
Storyline
Super Street Fighter IV takes place at the same time as SF4, several months after the events of Street Fighter II (thus is chronologically set between Street Fighter II and III). After M. Bison's survival following his encounter with Akuma, the S.I.N. corporation began another fighting tournament in order to draw out the most powerful fighters on Earth to complete the BLECE project. Each character has their own reasons for entering this tournament, but S.I.N.'s real desire is to lure Ryu to them in order to analyze the Satsui no Hadō, believed to be the last piece of data needed to complete BLECE.
