"Under the Moon," released in 2006, is an adult visual novel otome game that stands out for its unique blend of adventure and casual gameplay. Players engage in a narrative-driven experience filled with romance and decision-making, making choices that influence the story's outcome. The game's art style and character development cater to fans of indie titles seeking something different in the genre.

For PC gamers looking to run "Under the Moon," performance is quite accessible. The game has a minimum GPU requirement of an entry-level graphics card, scoring around 33, ensuring that even budget-friendly systems can deliver satisfactory performance. With a minimum RAM requirement of 8 GB, most standard setups should achieve decent FPS on low to medium graphics settings, making it easy for casual players to enjoy without needing high-end hardware.

Should you play "Under the Moon"? If you're a fan of visual novels and enjoy narrative experiences that allow you to shape the journey, this game comes highly recommended. Its engaging story and character interactions make it a worthwhile addition to any gamer’s library, especially those who appreciate casual indie titles.

Performance profile

Released in December 2006, Under the Moon comes from the DirectX 9 era. Even the cheapest modern discrete GPU crushes it at maxed-out settings; the only real bottleneck today is CPU single-thread speed on older titles that were never multi-threaded.

Under the Moon is a narrative-driven experience — a rock-solid 60 FPS is plenty. Prioritise resolution and image quality (AA, anisotropic filtering) over chasing high-refresh framerates.

Extremely light — Under the Moon runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.

Storyline

Ashe is a daughter of the Devil. She has never been out of the castle, just a pure little girl. She has never talked to boys and fallen in love. The Devil blood has been taken over from generations to generations, but she doesn't have enough power to take over the position. The current Devil gets weaker, and it's time to transfer the position to the successor. One day, the news comes out that someone, who lives in the human world, is nominated for the next Devil. Soon after the news comes out, a terrorist group attacks the castle, and Ashe runs out of the castle with Kyle. They run away into the forest, and accidentally fall into the hole to the human world and lose their magic power. They roam around the human world, and bump into twin brothers Leni and Seizh, who are the nominees for the Devil. Ashe asks them to come to the Devil world as soon as possible, but they are not interested in the position. Also, the people in the human world start the Devil hunting, and they lose their way back to the Devil world. Ashe and Kyle start to live at the twins house, but they seem to have a secret...? What will await them in the end..., a pure love story or...?
