About

"Well..." (2023) is an intriguing indie adventure game that combines elements of precision platforming with a rich narrative experience. Set within a mysterious magic well, players navigate through challenging terrain while encountering peculiar rats and uncovering hidden journals. The game's emphasis on intuition and exploration makes it notable among casual gamers and platforming enthusiasts alike, with engaging lore that keeps players invested in their journey.

When it comes to PC performance, "Well..." is relatively accessible, requiring only an entry-level GPU for optimal play. With a minimum GPU score of around 303, players can expect satisfactory FPS even on lower-end hardware. Recommendations for smoother gameplay include opting for GPUs that fall within the mid-tier range, alongside a CPU scoring above 1959 and at least 2 GB of RAM to ensure a more enjoyable experience while exploring the beautifully crafted environments.

If you're a fan of indie titles that challenge your gaming skills and immerse you in a deeply engaging storyline, then "Well..." is worth playing. With favorable ratings and its unique blend of adventure and casual gameplay, it provides a refreshing experience that appeals to a broad audience.

Performance profile

April 2023 release. As a current-generation title, Well... pushes modern hardware — expect to need an RTX 40-series or RX 7000-series GPU to enjoy it at native 4K Ultra without leaning on upscaling.

Well... is a narrative-driven experience — a rock-solid 60 FPS is plenty. Prioritise resolution and image quality (AA, anisotropic filtering) over chasing high-refresh framerates.

Extremely light — Well... runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.

Storyline

Spoiler Alert: A grandma stands outside of a well, when you interact with her, she tells you she dropped her ring down the well. You go down and you discover the ring on a dead guy. You grab the ring and bring it back to the grandma, she puts it on then turns into a monster, revealing her true form. The monster then thrusts you back into the well and you break through a floor at the bottom, revealing a whole other world. There's a man named Road that tells you the monsters name was Phreinch and you must kill him to save the world. Lore inside the well hidden in journals explain a deeper explanation of what happened before you showed up.
