About
"White Day: A Labyrinth Named School," released in 2017, is a gripping survival horror game that invites players to step into the role of Hee-Min Lee as he navigates the haunting halls of Yeondu High School. Known for its immersive gameplay, this indie title stands out due to its blend of action, adventure, and spine-chilling puzzles, providing a unique experience for horror enthusiasts eager to uncover the school's dark secrets and face its menacing ghosts.
When it comes to PC performance, "White Day: A Labyrinth Named School" is quite accessible, requiring only entry-level GPUs to achieve playable FPS. With a minimum GPU score of around 565 and just 4 GB of RAM required, players can expect decent graphics settings on lower-end hardware, making it possible to enjoy smooth gameplay even on budget systems. This means players using integrated graphics or older dedicated GPUs can still enjoy the game's eerie atmosphere without significant performance drops.
If you’re a fan of the horror genre, "White Day: A Labyrinth Named School" is worth a try, especially given its solid rating of 73/100. While it may not break new ground in graphics or gameplay, its atmospheric storytelling and chilling encounter design make it a compelling experience for fans of action-adventure games.
Performance profile
August 2017 release. White Day: A Labyrinth Named School was built around the GTX 10-series / RX Vega era. Current-gen mid-range cards (RTX 4060 / RX 7600) are overkill at 1080p and handle 1440p Ultra comfortably.
White Day: A Labyrinth Named School is a narrative-driven experience — a rock-solid 60 FPS is plenty. Prioritise resolution and image quality (AA, anisotropic filtering) over chasing high-refresh framerates.
Extremely light — White Day: A Labyrinth Named School runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.
Storyline
Set in South Korea in 2001, players control Lee Hui-min, a new transfer student at a local high school who sneaks into the institution after hours to prepare a white day surprise for his crush, Han So-young. Upon entry, Hui-min becomes trapped and begins to encounter the supernatural. With the assistance of other students, Hui-min traverses the building, hiding from foes and using item micro-management to solve puzzles to progress through the school, in an attempt to leave the building before dawn.
